Decode the Pattern! Destroy the Cards! Dominate the Game!

In CIPHER, you are presented with an undying amount of cards, each of which contains a unique shape. Your goal is to destroy these cards by decoding the pattern (suggested pattern on the bottom right) which is based on the shapes in the cards.

Dominate the game and reach the highest of high scores!

C O N T R O L S :

Use the buttons Q W A S  / U I J K / NumPad 4 5 1 2 to create the pattern.

B A S I C  M E C H A N I C S :

To successfully complete the pattern, it is crucial to do so within the time limit indicated by the timer located below the control grid (small 2x2 grid). By pressing a button, the timer resets to its full length, providing the player with ample time to create the pattern.

The pattern sequence begins at the cyan cell marked as 1 and concludes at the pink cell marked as 2. The presence of the purple cell indicates that it falls between 1 and 2 — Be mindful of the shape and Follow the arrows!

It's worth noting that the pattern in the cards is not limited to a single sequence. For instance, the player can choose to draw the pattern from 2 to 1 instead of following the default 1 to 2 sequence.

During the initial launch of the game, the timers on the cards are deactivated to allow the player sufficient time to learn the shapes and patterns. The timers will be activated again once the player reaches a score of 15, commencing the real game experience.

  • And, of course, a big thanks to You for taking the time to check out the game. I would love to hear about your high score! I'm curious to see if anyone can reach a milestone of 200 points or more. Thanks again!

Post-jam update: successfully resolved the visual glitch, adjusted the difficulty to be slightly easier in the initial rounds, and addressed the disruptive bug that affected the tutorial's flow. Additionally, the option to use the NumPad 4, 5, 1, and 2 as alternative controls has been implemented (never tested it though). Moreover, some quality of life tweaks have been added to enhance overall experience.

I am grateful for all the valuable feedback and suggestions received. Your input has been immensely valuable, and I sincerely appreciate it!

There is a visual glitch that occurs when accessing the settings during a boss round, but it will be addressed in an upcoming update following the jam.

Moreover, the update will introduce slight difficulty adjustments and several quality-of-life improvements. Keep an eye out for it!

Fixed the bug. Hopefully the last :)

!Apparently exporting the game to HTML5 caused some issues and broke some stuff, give me a couple of minutes to repair. I appreciate your understanding and patience. Thanks!
